4 miles after major repair
This picture shows lower end (crankshaft) engine bearings four miles after major work performed by the same dealership. One doesn't have to be a technician to see that the bearings are damaged. The cause of failure had been determined being oil contamination with aluminum oxide caused by improper repair procedure. Neither the dealership nor extended warranty company was willing to pay nearly $4,000 for the engine replacement.
100 miles after major repair

100 miles after major repair
The above pictures show more extreme case of the same situation with the only major difference being 100 miles after the repair work. In this case, damage to the engine is more severe - as you can see one of the connecting rods is broken, and the bearings look much worse. The first owner had probably better hearing than the second one, and had the vehicle towed back to the dealership immediately after having noticed the noise.
